An excellent and progressive opportunity for an AAT part or fully qualified Assistant Management Accountant to join an established business based in Newcastle under Lyme
The Role:
Reporting to the Finance Director an working in a small team, the role will involve
Assisting with the preparation of management accounts and financial reporting
Providing reporting and analysis of financial data that contribute towards management decisions within the UK division of a Global Group based in the USA.
Supporting to create the entire finance function and teams efficiency
Delivering accurate, robust timely data that enables the wider team to make fully informed decisions
Assist in the production of monthly/quarterly accounts in compliance with both UK and US accounting standards
Help ensure tight controls that drive liquidity with specific attention to stock, debtors, and creditors and the production of accurate cash flow forecasts on a week-by-week basis
Help maintain accurate accounting records and financial systems ensuring that supporting internal controls are appropriate and robust as the business develops
Take ownership of month-end balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts
Monthly processing of payroll and other employee payments
Perform monthly VAT returns for several entities
Deliver daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial performance reports
Be involved in regular stock takes, reconciling and explaining any variances, and taking full ownership of stock accuracy and reporting
Skills and Attributes required:
Commercially aware looking to be a part of a forward thinking accounts function
AAT-qualified or part-qualified
2-3 years in a commercial accounts environment
Minimum of 1 year in a manufacturing setting
Sage 200, Sage Payroll experience
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Hardworking and diligent
Up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations
Margin and Costing Experience
Experience of Management account preparation
Strong organisational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
Capable of working under pressure
Ability to use own initiative
Problem-solving, can-do approach
Able to work to a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent at multi-tasking and good team player
Self-motivated and dependable
High degree of confidentiality
The Hours:
Monday to Thursday 7.45am – 4.30pm
Friday 7.45am – 12.15pm
