Purchasing Officer

Salary, up to £30k depending on experience

The Role:
To be the principal point of contact with suppliers for all activities and communications
relating to the administration and fulfilment of orders
Be active in obtaining quotations for the best purchase price of raw and auxiliary materials
Provide purchasing data
Placing purchasing orders
Input data in SAP computer system
Processing orders
Ensure orders contain all the elements required and that they are correct
Follow up specific items that need to be defined during order processing
Submit purchase orders to the authorised person for purchasing
Collect authorisation signatures
Agree the supplier delivery schedule for the delivery of raw materials and packaging
Circulate internally all necessary information
Collect relevant papers and send them to accounting, internal users
Management of purchased Materials including, Purchase of Ingredients & Packaging
Understand Kosher requirements and ensure they are met as necessary
Maintain the in-house system
Answer enquiries from suppliers
Working closely with the accounts department to ensure fast and effective exchange of
information on every aspect of supplier relationship (payment, invoicing, credit items, etc) - When necessary and requested provide assistance to the CSR (e.g holiday cover)
Skills and Attributes required:
Customer account management, purchasing or sales experience
Excellent communication skills (telephone and email)
Ability to influence and build strong supplier relations
Confident in dealing with deadlines and working under pressure
Strong PC skills in all Microsoft packages and SAP
Strong organisational skills
Accurate data entry and attention to detail
Confident in dealing with supplier and customer queries to progress the order
The Hours:
Monday – Friday
8am - 4pm
